I've been terribly neglectful of this journal. Basically, I've kept up posting at LJ and am too lazy to crosspost most of the time. But for those who only read me here, I've just finished NaBloPoMo over at my LJ. All entries are public, so you don't have to friend me there to read them (not that I'd mind, of course!). For my last entry, I chose to put up a picspam full of pretty and it seemed wrong to deny IJ. I'm not the first with the news, but I have to post it for my own sake.
Finally, we have the gay character in Harry Potter we were searching for. And it couldn't be sweeter if was Harry himself. JKR confirmed today that DUMBLEDORE WAS GAY. And gay for Gellert, as we all suspected! OMG so full of WIN I can't stand it!!!!!!

For some reason, a gigantic flock of crows has decided to have a convention on the roof of the office building across the street from my apartment.... and my windows. Ah, what I wouldn't give for just a few Black Cat firecrackers to scare the lot of them off.
PS- In case you didn't already know this about me, I hate/am afraid of birds in general, so this is annoying x2. |

To quickly re-cap, I had a most excellent birthday this past Saturday, thanks in part to all of the birthday wishes I received from you all. So thank you for helping to boost up my happy! I also had three lovely little fics written for me by three of my favorite authors. And now I provide you links so you can also enjoy these lovely treats!

I've got DanRad to thank for this one. If you want to be blown away, check out this amazing band from the UK, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, who are not only amazing, but have the coolest name ever. Apologies in advance for directing you to a MySpace page, but it's the only place to really listen to their music right now. For an idea as to what they sound like, I'll copy their own description: We sound a bit like an arcade machine thrown into a lake, A ZX Spectrum in a prison shower block (That soap on the floor...? it's a trap) . My 'The Smiths' Pandora station is seriously the best thing ever. I have so much music I need to buy now. And of course, it's a constant source of old favorites.
Also, if I have you friended at LJ and you're only reading here, I've made a few flocked posts just at LJ lately, so you may want to have a look-see. I've been bad a xposting lately. :(

1. Who would you become for a day using Polyjuice Potion?
Harry Potter. And then I'd promptly go shag Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape. Preferably at the same time. *g*

I created this same comm over on LJ (heh, and GJ too, but it looks like GJ's getting abandoned by fandom). It's ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) unemployed_fen. I got the idea from enchanted_jae, who suggested we should have a support group for unemployed fandom people. Well, unemployed_fen is just that. I am unemployed at the moment, and it sucks. But it sucks less to commiserate with others who are enduring the same struggle. It will also, hopefully, be a place for resources related to job searching, interviewing, resumes, cover letters, etc. Even if you are employed, we would love to have you join and help keep our spirits up/give us advice. So, if you are interested, please join/watch. Thanks! |

Apparently Canada's laws regarding fictional minors in sexual situations, written or drawn, are more on par with Australia's than the United States' (read: more strict, as in, it's all illegal). I know a lot of us had been hanging our hopes on Scribblit.com as our new fandom home when it's ready, but as it's servers will be/are located in Canada, I think that's right out at this point. *sigh* There's more information at maeglinyedi's journal here. The good news is, we have InsaneJournal and JournalFen. Both want us there, are making upgrades, and are less expensive than LJ. I'm pretty sure that's where fandom will end up hanging its hat in the long run. |

Just two things.
1) Reading an article on Yahoo News about the hole in the space shuttle. It would, of course, be tragic if something bad were to happen to these people; however, I couldn't help but chuckle at this quote re: fixing the hole- "They could apply black paint, screw on a protective plate, or squirt in goo." Goo? Are you kidding me? $16 billion and we've given the astronauts GOO?
2) TV on in the background. Commercial comes on and I hear what sounds like a lame cover of The Beatles' "All You Need Is Love". I look up, and it's a diaper commercial for the brand Luvs. The song has, of course, been changed to say, "All you need is Luvs". NO. Just... no.
Btw- I'm sorry if people are being annoyed by the cross-posting to all 4 journals. I just don't know who's reading what where, you know? Personally, until Scribblit is ready to go, my bet is on IJ and JF, but I'll still post at LJ and GJ as well. |

Bless Daisy at the DR forum for coming through with these amazing, previously unreleased photos of Dan Radcliffe from his Q Magazine photo shoot. Oh how I miss the Equus facial hair...
